Weddings, birthdays, private dinners, proposals and celebrations for up to 50 guests, on a deck and a lawn that look down on Ocho Rios. Planning, décor and rentals from Bay Vista itself, since 1998.
Additional fees apply · events are priced separately from accommodation
Picture a ceremony on the deck under the great tree, the sea behind the arch. A first look on the double staircase. Dinner at one long table with tropical flowers down the middle and the lights of Ocho Rios coming on below. Then everyone who matters most sleeping in the house. Bay Vista plans and dresses its own events through Michelle’s company, The Wedding Planner Plus, which has planned weddings on this coast since 1998 and is based at the villa. The flowers, the balloons, the tables, the licence and the timeline are all one conversation, with Bay Vista.
Additional fees apply. Events are priced separately from accommodation, with their own payment arrangements: renting the villa for a stay does not automatically include hosting a party or event. Tell Michelle what you are planning and she will quote it.
What the house can become
Every kind of celebration.
Intimate weddings
Up to 50 guests
A Bay Vista wedding is the ceremony with the sea behind you, the reception on the same deck an hour later, and the bride getting ready in the Heliconia Suite upstairs. The owner’s company has planned weddings on this coast since 1998, so the décor, the flowers, the marriage licence and the timeline are all handled in-house.
The lawn holds an arch and a few rows of chairs; the table in the glass dining room seats ten for dinner. Couples have married here inside a single cruise-ship port window, so a short, beautiful day is very much possible.
For a family, a company, a group of friends who have reached the age of wanting a proper dinner. Set on the deck under the tree or in the glass dining room.
Bridal, engagement, maternity and brand shoots use the villa by the hour or the day. Jamaican art on the walls, a curved double staircase, four bedrooms in four palettes, and the bay behind everything.
Ceremony on the deck or the lawn, cocktails in the courtyard, dinner on the deck or in the glass dining room, portraits on the staircase, the Heliconia Suite to get ready. All on one property, all yours for the day.
The deck
Ceremonies and dinners for up to 50
Under the great tree at the top of the garden, with the bay below. Lanterns, string lights and a dance floor have all been laid here.
The lawn
Ceremonies with the sea behind you
An arch at the edge of the hill, a white aisle, rows of chairs, and Ocho Rios in every photograph.
The courtyard
Cocktails and the bar
The red-brick heart of the house, filled with plants under a clear skylight. A bar can be set up for the evening.
The glass dining room
Dinner for ten
For micro weddings and anniversary dinners, with the coastline beyond the table.
By the pool
Receptions and after-parties
Cocktail tables around the water, the cut-stone wall lit from below.
The Heliconia Suite

A decorated ceremony location on the deck or lawn
The air-conditioned Heliconia Suite for getting ready
Up to 50 guests, whether it is a wedding, a birthday or a private dinner. Eight guests can sleep at the villa; the rest stay in Ocho Rios hotels and villas a short drive away, and transfers can be arranged. Additional fees apply: events are priced separately from accommodation.
Does booking a stay include hosting an event?
No. Renting the villa for a stay does not automatically include hosting a party or event. Events are priced separately from accommodation and have their own payment arrangements, so tell Michelle what you are planning before you book.
Can we get legally married in Jamaica?
Yes. Visitors can marry in Jamaica after 24 hours on the island with a marriage licence, which the planning team applies for on your behalf. Bring passports, birth certificates and, where relevant, divorce or death certificates. The team will tell you exactly what applies to you.
Do we have to use your planner?
Planning, décor and rentals come from Bay Vista itself, through Michelle’s company, The Wedding Planner Plus, which is based at the villa. Need help, balloons, flowers or any other arrangement? Ask Bay Vista. You are welcome to bring your own photographer, officiant, cake maker or entertainers.
Can we hold an event without staying overnight?
Yes. Day use is for events only: the villa can be booked for the day for a wedding, a birthday, a private dinner or a shoot. Additional fees apply.
What happens if it rains?
The deck can be tented and draped, the courtyard is covered by a skylight, and the table in the glass dining room seats ten. Rain on the north coast usually passes quickly; the timeline allows for it.
Is there a curfew for music?
Bay Vista is on a residential ridge, so amplified music ends at a time agreed in your contract. Your planner will tell you the current cut-off.
